WODE Firmware v1.24 Released PDF Print E-mail

A new firmware update (1.24) has been released for the WODE. For a full tutorial including a link to the new FW see the WODE - Performing a Firmware Update tutorial.

WODE 1.24 Firmware Changes/Fixes:

  • Adds choice of TitleID or Filename display to settings menu
  • Fixes region hacking for some Wii games
  • Fixes GC region hacking & BKO disk 1/2 issue

NOTE: multidisk games & region hacking: When BKO (or any other 2 disk GC games) asks for the "other disk" it is important that the region hacking code isn't triggered, it prevents the game from recognizing the "other disk". The WODE Team has implemented a workaround for this - when you right click on the "other disk" to load it you should keep the joystick pushed to the right until the console starts to read the disk (blue LED blinks, read counter increments). This will prevent the region hack from activating (you could also navigate to the settings menu & turn off region hacking before loading the "other disk" but I think this is easier)

WODE JUKEBOX

The Wode is a massive breakthrough in the Wii modchip industry. It allows you to load and play games off of a USB Mass Storage device.  It is a USB Loader via hardware which means no issues with compatibility of games, no worrying about bricking your Wii, and no worrying about Wii updates.  Since this emulates a Wii drive, essentially it should never be able to be blocked!

The Wode Wii Modchip comes packaged like the original Wii docking station and has a built in LCD screen for scrolling through your games.  Being packaged like the original Wii docking station means it retains its clean, sleek look.
